Building the Practice of Public Health

The University of Michigan School of Public Health Office of Public Health Practice extends the university's resources to public health practitioners in governmental and community-based organizations and provides practice opportunities for UM SPH students and faculty. Programs housed in the Practice Office demonstrate UM SPH's commitment to securing and strengthening Michigan's current and future public health practice community through applied research, education and lifelong learning.

Public Health Grand Rounds: Youth Violence- December 5, 2008

The Office of Public Health Practice will sponsor a Public Health Grand Rounds entitled Youth Violence: It's a Public Health Issue on December 5, 2008 in Room 1690 Crossroads from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (Lunch included.) The event will also be live webcast. Registration is required. Visit www.mipreparedness.org.

Scholarship Opportunity for Local Public Health Workers

Public health practitioners working in a local health department in Michigan are eligible to apply for a tuition scholarship of up to $2,500 for the Certificate in the Foundations of Public Health program. Applications are due November 17. Learn more.
